March 19, 1984 saw a new comic strip by Bill Holbrook syndicated to newspapers across America.
The characters of On The Fastrack would change over the years with some taking on the starring role over others. On May 18, 2010 a character came into the strip who would take on that starring role.
As Bill told Hogan’s Alley a few years ago:
Dethany of On the Fastrack is one of those stories of catching lightning in a bottle. I brought her into the strip as a side character and she’s become the unquestioned lead, thanks to the response of the audience.
This week (and into next week) has Bill Holbrook celebrating the 40th anniversary of On The Fastrack.
Congratulations Bill! That’s an amazing accomplishment.

I don’t if characters from 2 other Bill Holbrook strips – Safe Havens and Kevin and Kell – will take part in the On the Fastrack 40th. Anniversary celebration.
I’m sure those 40 years went quickly, kinda like on a fast track….sorry, couldn’t help myself….
