The Daily Cartoonist, or TDC, was launched in 2005 as the leading source of industry news for professional cartoonists drawing comic strips and editorial cartoons. Its audience included cartoonists, newspaper editors, syndicates, historians and comic fans around the world. Coverage also grew to include webcomics, movies and animation, and magazine gag cartoonists. Nineteen years later, TDC is still a community of comic enthusiasts and artists.
2005-2016: Alan Gardner founded TDC in 2005 and was the sole contributor/editor through 2016.
2016-2022: Andrews McMeel Universal owned and operated the TDC. Its contributing editors were D.D. Degg and Mike Peterson.
2022-current: TDC is owned by The Daily Cartoonist, LLC, a company owned by Alan Gardner. D.D. Degg and Mike Peterson. D.D. Degg and Mike continue to be editors with Alan taking care of technical and business matters.
