Larry Wright to retire from editorial cartooning

Daryl Cagle has posted news that Larry Wright is retiring permanently from the Detroit News at the end of this month. He retired from the paper as a full time employee in 2006, but continued to freelance three cartoons a week with them until last year where they dropped him to two a week and then finally down to one a week later this year. He writes that they’re “cutting me off the end of the year.”

Clarification: Daryl writes in to note that Larry will continue to freelance for the paper, just not as an editorial cartoonist.
