Guy Gilchrist’s Cartoonist’s Academy will be hosting a fund-raiser for Operation First Response which helps families of soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. According to E&P, the event is scheduled for July 25th in Simsbury, CT and will include other cartoonists such as Frank McLaughlin and Mike Lynch. Guy is the co-creator of Nancy.`

The Cartoon Network?s animated series, “Boondocks,”has been nominated for a 2006 Teen Choice Award in the category of ?Choice TV Show: Animated.? The series is based on Aaron McGruder?s comic strip, The Boondocks, syndicated by Universal Press. McGruder serves as creator and executive producer of the show.

I received and email from Dawn Douglas, the founder of GoGags (not to be confused with Universal Press’ GoComics) who is wheeling and dealing to get more cartoonists to sign up for their mobile cartoon and “My Fridj” products.
