Journalist Jake Tapper draws cartoons Roll Call’s 60th anniversary

I knew reporter/journalist/news anchor Jake Tapper had inspired to be a cartoonist, I wasn’t aware that he was once a cartoonist for Roll Call. That aside, the paper asked him to provide a cartoon for their 60th anniversary, which he did (see below).

I think Jake might be a candidate for the National Cartoonists Society’s ACE Award given to a “celebrity or notable who aspired at one time to become a cartoonist, but whose path led them to an entirely different career.” The last person to win this award was Weird Al Yankovich.

Tapper’s also drawing cartoons for the final segment of his new weekly Sunday morning political show on CNN.
