A nice week in Vermont, but heading home

My apologies for the lack of updates this week. I’m traveling for work and it would seem blogging would be easier when I travel – especially to places like Vermont. It’s freezing cold outside – not much to do except stay inside and try to keep warm.

But Vermont turned out to be a great trip (except for blogging). I ate at a cool pub called Three Penny Taproom which had amazing food and drink. While waiting for my table, I found this original cartoon art on the wall. Apparently, this little pub was a favorite (or favored) by New Yorker cartoonist Ed Koren.

Wednesday night I met up with my college newspaper editor whom I haven’t seen or talked to in 15+ years. That year, 1997, proved to be defining one for both of us and cemented a bond that will endure to our last days. As I posted on Facebook afterward, “Tonight was like picking up a conversation 15+ years later without missing a beat.”

I’ll be heading home tonight and be back on the “beat” on Monday. Thanks everyone for your patience.

Alan
