College cartoonists Controversies Editorial cartooning

University of Montana cartoon draws fire

Cartoon by Callan Berry
Callan Berry, a student at the University of Montana, is “drawing fire” according to a report by the local NBC station. The cartoon points out the irony of mandatory sexual assault prevention classes required of all students.

Callen says:

“I’m a satirical artist. My point was to satirize the feeling on campus towards PETSA… which is that some people believe that they shouldn’t have to take it, and that they’re forced to.”

Bad taste, but not a bad idea.

‘Don’t talk about our prophet’, ‘don’t make fun of our bureacracies,’ my, this slope is slippery if it seems to ‘taste’ good.

Spot on, I’d wish I would have thought of that.

That’s something this world fails to realize, that a comic strip artists job is to make fun of everything!! we help folks see things for what they really are.
