Aaron McGruder campaigns for Emmy Award by shaming producers
From Star Pulse blog and a Universal Press press release comes news that Aaron McGruder is trying to get an Emmy for his Boondocks television show by shaming the producers through a series of advertisements. One of the ads says:
In the new campaign, featured in current TV industry trade magazines, producers state, “No black people on Frasier, it won Emmys. No black people on Will & Grace, it won Emmys. They finally put some black people on Desperate Housewives, and they locked one of ’em in the basement. But, f**k it, we’ll try anyway.”
Apparently the ads are geared to remind those involved in the Emmys that African-Americans have not faired well in the annual ceremony.
We’ll see how it goes. The Emmy awards will be held August 27, 2006.

That’s a funny campagn. At least it’s truthful and makes a great point that people can FINALLY open their eyes to seeing. There have been PLENTY of deserving African American shows that were overlooked by the Emmys. You can’t get mad at him for taking a solid stance.
