Kanye West Tweets paired with New Yorker Cartoons

Paul Sabourin, co-comedian in the musical comedy duo Paul and Storm, has started substituting New Yorker cartoon captions with recent Kanye West Twitter tweets – often with very funny results.

urlesque.com interviewed Paul in the motives and inspiration between the mashups.

The pretentious explanation: Kanye’s tweets are more or less raw id (unfiltered, portraying base emotions and simple thoughts) and New Yorker cartoons are almost entirely superego (carefully considered, ‘quiet’ presentation).

The simple explanation: it just struck me as funny at 3 a.m. Luckily, unlike most 3 a.m. inspirations, this one actually seems to hold up.

You can see a large sample of the tweet-toons over on buzzfeed.com.

I’m gonna go ahead and find this sort-of funny, just to get the full spectrum of human emotion in here.

I’m going to tip this one over to “funny” on the spectrum of human emotions, then. That example picture is great. :)
