Ottawa Citizen editorial cartoonist Cam Cardow has posted a video showing how he creates the Duoshade effect in Photoshop. Doushade was a paper that when a special chemical was applied, a diagonal shading line appeared under the pen and ink drawings creating a shading effect. The paper was discontinued in 2009.Here’s Cam’s video:

This is cool. Animation director Genndy Tartakovsky has been working on a Popeye animated feature film for Sony Pictures Animation. Today they released an “animation test” – not the real voice talent or even scenes from the movie in production. But it’s cool nonetheless. Check it out:
