New exhibit featuring Florida cartoonists opens

A new exhibit of original artwork has opened in Ocala, Florida featuring 11 cartoonists from the state. The exhibit, which opened September 12 is entitled Florida Inkslingers: Cartoonists of the Sunshine State and runs through October 18. Mike Lane retires from syndication

Mike Lane, the former editorial cartoonist for the Baltimore Sun, has announced that he will retire from syndicated editorial cartooning. Mike was one of the first to join Daryl Cagle’s new syndicate, Cagle Cartoons Syndicate. In an email to Daryl, he writes that he’ll spend his time doing “watercolors, greeting cards, perhaps, whatever.”
