David Silverman, animator/supervising director of The Simpsons, directed an animated short (Maggie Simpson in ‘The Longest Daycare’) that is up for an Academy Award this weekend. The short debuted before Ice Age: Continental Drift and was broadcast on Fox this last Sunday after the Simpsons. Hollywood reporter interviewed David about the short and The Simpsons.

Axe Cop, the webcomic written by brothers Malachai Nicolle (age 5 when the webcomic was launched) and Ethan Nicolle (age 28 when launched) will debut on Fox’s Adult Swim-style Saturday-night on July 27. This is a Halloween themed teaser released last fall.
