The News & Observer swaps out four features

The News & Observer has announced that starting next Monday they will be adding Pearls Before Swine, Frazz, Edge City and Watch Your Head to their line up. Outgoing strips include, The Boondocks, Hagar the Horrible, Cathy and Drabble. Pearls, Frazz and Edge City will also run in the Sunday comics starting December 3rd.

Jan Eliot to judge women scholarship fund

Jan Eliot, creator of Stone Soup, will be one of six judges for the Talbot’s Women Scholarship Fund. The fund gives $100,000 in scholarships to 55 women between their late 20’s to early 60’s who are working toward their bachelor’s or associates degree. Other judges include Naomi Judd, S. Universal Press has announced the Phil Dunlap’s Ink Pen has been optioned to be developed into an animated film. Phil’s cartoon is barely a year old and is now in 50 newspapers.
