Ziggy will be a part of the newly renovated Copyright Office in Washington, D.C. The 1993 Ziggy strip features the Yellow Kid who is shoeless and begging while wearing a shirt that says “Copyright ran out – please help.” Other American icons to be showcased include the Statue of Liberty, Oscar, and Coca-Cola.

Marcus Hamilton recently spoke at the Scholastic Art Awards Ceremony in North Carolina. His speech centered on his career as a cartoonist and the serendipitous moment when he was invited to take over on Hank Ketcham’s Dennis the Menace feature in 1995.
