Writer, Comic Historian

D.D. Degg is a lifelong comics reader whose journey began with Harvey titles like Stumbo and Sad Sack in childhood and a “Marvel Zombie” phase in his teens. He grew up on NEA’s daily comics page, reading Winthrop, Captain Easy, Short Ribs, and more, while local cartoonist Bert Whitman fueled his appreciation for the art form. Discovering The Penguin Book of Comics by George Perry and Alan Aldridge created an insatiable urge to study comics of every kind.
