Perri Hart – RIP

John Hart Studio gag writer-colorist-letterer Perri Hart has passed away.

Perri Ann Hart
October 10 1957 – April 8, 2023

From the obituary:

Perri Hart, 65, photographer, comedy writer, artist, painter, beer drinker, world traveler, wannabe stand-up comic, die-hard life-long New York Yankee fan, and friend to everyone she met, passed away peacefully on April 8th at Mercy House in Endicott. Perri was predeceased by her parents Johnny and Bobby Hart …

Perri spent 25 wonderful years working alongside her cartoonist dad and his writing partner Jack Caprio (Uncle Kip). She colored Sundays, kept the guys on deadline, handled fan mail, and took care of all the behind the scenes details. She continued this work with her sister Patti, and nephews Mason and Mick when Johnny passed in 2007. She retired last year and had been planning a 274 day world cruise when cancer changed everything…

Perri’s LinkedIn page says she has been a part of the John Hart Studios since 1985.

From the John Hart Studios “B.C. Team” page:

Perri Hart, Johnny’s youngest daughter, worked with her dad, writing and producing B.C. for over two decades. Working so closely with Johnny, Perri picked up his style of lettering and color sense.

Today, Perri letters and colors B.C. and is a contributing gag writer. Perri is an accomplished photographer, having graduated from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1980.

The Daily Cartoonist extends our condolences to the Johnny Hart family.
