Marcus Hamilton recently spoke at the Scholastic Art Awards Ceremony in North Carolina. His speech centered on his career as a cartoonist and the serendipitous moment when he was invited to take over on Hank Ketcham’s Dennis the Menace feature in 1995. His speech was received with a standing ovation.
Aaron McGruder spoke at University of the Pacific during one of their Black History Month events. In his one hour speech and question and answer period, Aaron talked about controversy (particularly the “N” word), and his cartooning motivations (“money”). He also mentioned the Boondocks movie which he says is in the beginning stages.

E&P is reporting that there is a new exhibit planned at the Charles M. Schulz Museum that is focusing on the influence of Peanuts on cartooning and pop culture. The exhibit runs March 3rd through January 28 of 2008 and will include over 50 comics and 50 editorial cartoons that reference Peanuts.
