The Stafford County Sun has announced that its cartoonist Frank Lewis has passed away at age 89. Frank also drew for its parent company News & Messenger.

The Mainichi Daily News reports that Kimihiko Tsukuda, the creator of the longest-running serialized comic strip in Japanese newspapers, has passed away at the age of 80. His comic strip Honobono-kun, dubbed the “Japanese Charlie Brown,” first appeared in newspapers in 1956 and ran through 2007 after Kimihiko fell ill.

Comic book legend Harvey Pekar was found dead this morning at age 70. The cause of death has not been announced, but police have ruled out foul play. During his career he worked as a staff illustrator at the aerospace division of Ford Motor Company. He spent was a professional freelancer since 1970.
