Over the Hedge DVD Release date set

According to the Reuter’s story the DVD will include a hybernated feature that can be activated after November 28 (presumably to coincide with peak Christmas buying season), a four minute mini-movie with all the original voice talent. The mini-movie is a parody of reality tv called “Hammy’s Boomerang Adventure.”The DVD also includes “Behind the Hedge,” a look at the real-life animals that inspired the film’s critters; filmmaker commentaries; a mock “infomercial” spoofing the career opportunities of pest control; a “making-of” documentary; cast interviews; and a virtual drawing lesson by a DreamWorks animator on how to sketch Hammy.Over the Hedge took in $151.7 million domestically.

Terri Libenson picks up two new papers and then picks up after her kids

The Republican (no, really, a newspaper in Massachusetts called the Republican!), has picked up the Pajama Diaries while Cathy is away on vacation and The Chronicle-Telegram (Ohio) has picked up the Sunday version.Meanwhile, Terri Libenson, Pajama Diaries creator, is getting a favorable write up about her balancing working as a writer for American Greetings, comic stripper, AND work from home mother of two.  The Chronicle article also has tidbits on her goals for the strip.She was also a guest on the Washington Post’s Meet the Artist live chat last Friday.Pajama Diaries was launched back in April by King Features.

Did Johnny Hart make another derogatory statement against Islam? (Updated)

This two panel cartoon begins with the turtle character stepping on something in tall grass and ends with a question, “What makes a bite thats shaped like a crescent moon?”…  I remember at the time defending Johnny on ToonTalk as the crescent is a common symbol/cliché used on outhouses and that people were inserting their own views into the strip, but now with this strip, I’m thinking that perhaps Johnny is capable of these clever puns (verbal or visual).
