Magazine cartoonist P. C. Vey has passed away.
Peter Christopher (P.C.) Vey
October 23, 1955 – September 17, 2026
Michael Maslin shared the news today that Vey died due to an aggressive cancer:
“We’ve received the exceptionally sad news that Peter Vey, who signed his cartoons P.C.Vey, died yesterday. His wife, Tina Vey, announced his passing on social media this afternoon. Ms.Vey wrote that Peter ‘was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 pancreatic cancer two months ago.’“

Aside from The New Yorker Vey also contributed cartoons to National Lampoon, MAD, Harvard Business Review. Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Narrative, Prospect, Playboy, AARP Bulletin, The Boston Globe, Funny Times, Saturday Review, Funny times, Cracked, Omni, and others.
