Man Arrested in Skrepetsky Death, Cartooning for Peace Calls for Investigation

Polish police have arrested a man they suspect shot and killed Russian artist Semyon Skrepetsky. The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk announced on X/Twitter that the individual held a Georgian passport and that authorities “are working to identify the person who ordered the killing.”

Other outlets have reported that the alleged killer is 36 years-old. Two other suspects that were arrested soon after the murder were not charged.

Cartooning for Peace is calling for a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Semyon Skrepetsky, whose tragic end reflects the price that no one should have to pay for criticising an autocrat.
