It’s that time of year when The Bests of 2025 starts making their appearances, and first out of the starting blocks is Roll Call’s political cartoonist R. J. Matson.
Some subjects seem to be evergreens, at least for the duration of the current administration.

The problem with this early retrospective is that R. J. Matson will still issue a number of cartoons in 2025.
A recent one caught my eye — many of R.J.s drawing are eye catching — and his latest, as of this writing, made me laugh out loud. Neither of them are included in his “Favorites of 2025.”
