Arnold Arnam, affectionately known as “Arn” to all who knew him, age 91, a talented graphic artist and illustrator whose distinguished career spanned decades at the Chicago Tribune, passed away on June 20, 2025, at his longtime home in Glencoe, IL.

Arn graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1956 and was awarded a prestigious 18-month scholarship, which he postponed to fulfill military service.

Upon returning to the U.S. in 1960, Arn completed his master’s degree at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). 

Arn then began his career at the Chicago Tribune, dedicating himself to the Tribune’s art department and contributing numerous notable illustrations and graphics until his retirement in 1998. His celebrated work included illustrations commemorating John F. Kennedy, now housed in the JFK Presidential Library, and a promotional piece for Alfred Hitchcock’s film North by Northwest.
