As regular readers of Mike Curtis’s Dick Tracy know the Diet Smith resolution may take months.

Also waiting to be resolved is the decision of what comic strip The Canberra Times will keep publishing.

The Chronicle Chamber reports, through the efforts of Anthony Gillies, that Australia’s Canberra Times is reducing their comics page down to one strip from their current lineup of nine, they are asking readers to vote for their favorite.

Citing costs The Canberra Times asks readers to choose one from Ginger Meggs by Jason Chatfield, Swamp by Gary Clark, Insanity Streak by Tony Lopes, and Snake Tales by Allan Salisbury; or choose from the imported strips of Garfield, The Phantom, Hagar, Wizard of Id, Fred Basset, and Zits.

It seems the Denver Nuggets won a game last night.

Colorado sports cartoonist Drew Litton drew a few cartoons about it. On GoComics, for KUSA-TV, at The Sun.

The Passing of a Plugger

Gag man Tom Moore has passed away. From January 20, 2015 to, at least, May 21, 2023 Tom Moore contributed scores (hundreds?) of ideas to the Pluggers panels of both Gary Brookins and Rick McKee. From the obituary:

His latest adventure was writing comics for the Pluggers Comic Strip, either under his name or one of his many aliases.

Tom was always there when someone needed a helping hand or, at least, he had a “guy”. Tom will be sorely missed by his family and everyone he met. The world lost a true “plugger”.
