We find ourselves today in the suburbs, where small children in white bathrobes learn to break boards using a variety of disciplines, or at least to strike poses suggesting that they might later break a board. Or go to McDonald's. I've seen them do all of those things.
In today's Cul de Sac, Ernesto discusses the mix of martial arts offered by the Future Adults of America, a group, I might add, that is sorely needed these days. It's nice to see them concentrate on teaching the ancient arts that are such a part of the suburban cultural heritage.
Of course, grass stained gis are a hazard of suburban martial arts, but, once again, the wisdom of the ages can save the day.
