Editorial Cartoonist wanted

It looks like the Times Herald-Record is looking for an editorial cartoonist.  The don’t mention how frequently one would be published, but they are adamant about only wanting local cartoons.  The Times Herald-Record is a daily paper serving the New York’s Hudson Valley and the Catskills.

Are you funny …

… and can you draw?

Can you do both at the same time and chew gum? Do you always seem to have an opinion on what some self-serving politician or other “important” person has done? Would you like to vent these feelings in public – under the blanket of the U.S. Constitution – and make a few bucks besides?

The Times Herald-Record is looking for an editorial cartoonist to comment on local issues. We say again, local issues. We’ve got Iraq and the White House covered. The person should indeed have some artistic talent as well as a strong interest in what’s going on around here and an ability to work on deadline. A sense of humor is a must.

If you’re interested, send some samples (they cannot be returned) along with a resume to Bob Gaydos, editorial page editor, Times Herald-Record, 40 Mulberry St., Middletown 10940. Make us laugh.

  11. My pen is sharp enough to cut-up any subject! And it usually comes within seconds of seeing or hearing a topic such as President I’m-Ah-Dinner-Jackets ranting @ Columbia yesterday. Ya should see the cartoon I made for that one! WOW…
