The Jan. 12 – Jan. 17, 1942 proof sheet for King of the Royal Mounted is missing from the King Features files. Here are those missing strips.
The Zane Grey name attached to King of the Royal Mounted was only for promotional/publicity purposes. Grey had nothing to do with the comic strip though presumably he read and okayed it if for no other reason so his name wouldn’t be associated with low-quality adventure. It is possible Grey’s son Romer wrote the early strips, but by this time artist Jim Gary was probably writing the strip.
