Four Candidates Emerge to Run Angoulême Comics Festival
Skip to commentsAs the dogged Angoulême International Comics Festival tries to aright itself from the cancelation of this year’s festival and the scandalized past of the former organizer, 9eArt+, it has announced the first round of companies that responded to a call for new organizer. Two of the four have connections to the prior organizer.

The list of finalists include:
- The Bordeaux society A Bord, which in recent years was a provider of the festival and which counts in its ranks Ezilda Tribot, former event manager and artistic youth director of the FIBD for 9th Art +.
- The Morgane group, already organizer of the Francofolies de La Rochelle and Printemps de Bourges, which employs Céline Bagot, founder of the Pop Women Festival and also worked for 9th Art+.
- West Coast, the event agency of the South West Group.
- The vision society that organizes the Comicon of Naples.
The winner of the contract will be announced next month.
