Keith Knight again. We’ve really gotta quit meeting like this.As occasionally alluded to here, there is a group of cartoonists whose work I like so much that I judge them more harshly than others, in part to avoid getting into a rut where the same people are featured here all the time.Sometimes I think it’s […]
Keith Knight with a dignified tribute to a dignified man. I never quite got how Don Cornelius, who seemed so grown-up and cool-in-the-dispassionate-sense fit in with the music he featured. But that was part of the deal, and, while it was good to bring soul to mainstream audiences, I was old enough by then to […]
“Sherman’s Lagoon” has been riffing on “Dolphin Tale” this week, a feel-good movie about a dolphin who caught her tail in a trap, had it amputated and was fitted with a prosthetic tail. It’s based on a true story, which, since “based on a true story” generally means “We only made up 85 percent of […]
The Knight Life with a double-swipe — one at the economy and one at the ironic hipsters who made PBR a well-known acronym. There is no such thing as ironic beer. Beer comes in two basic forms: Good beer and Bad beer. It is a continuum and there are plenty of beers that are “okay,” and […]
Keith Knight has been chronicling his life in “the K Chronicles” for getting onto a couple of decades now, and it is consistently fresh because he rarely reaches into the Bag of Accepted Memes for his observational gags. He just tells you what he’s been thinking and doing lately, with more wit than jokes to […]
Technical storytelling praise first: That final panel is brilliant, combining his horror at what he has done to this poor woman with the triumphant little “got what I wanted” in the lower right corner, which shows some mixed emotions when compared to the larger captioning in the box. In fact, the entire panel is a […]
Sometimes a gag is so insanely inventive that you just have to pause a moment in admiration.Open House as a sting operation to nab unwary dropouts. Ladies and gentlemen, Keith Knight.Today’s Knight Life works with more elements than the “You’ve Won A Ticket To The Super Bowl” sting operations that periodically nail fugitives, but […]
Yesterday, the House pushed through a bill defunding public broadcasting, in an effort to make a grandstanding ploy to energize their nutbase. The bill probably won’t even get a vote in the Senate, much less pass.I can relate to today’s Knight Life strip, though, because we just went through another pledge drive here. Yet another […]
Last week, Keith Knight posted a cartoon responding to his first time attending a National Cartoonist Society’s Reuben award weekend. In the cartoon he suggests various ways the NCS could improve the events which include: holding the conferences in smaller locales, being more inclusive to webcomickers and indie cartoonists, have more public events and organize […]
