VeeFriends by Gary Vee and D.J. Coffman began its Sunday run in Lee Enterprises newspapers on February 23, 2025 and while still running in those papers it hasn’t been original material since January 18, 2026.

  1. With the cancellation of VeeFriends, does this mean Lee Enterprises newspapers can get a new deal with Andrews-McMeel strips and keep the King Features strip rights for its unified comics pages?

    1. I would be interested to know if Lee Ent. is paying Vee Inc., if Vee Inc. is paying Lee Ent., or if there are no fees being exchanged to print the comic strip on the bottom half of every Lee Sunday weather page.

  2. That’s an awfully low number of cartoons to pull reruns from…

    1. 16 comic books (so far) at 24 pages/book (#16) divided by 2 equals almost four years of weekly VeeFriends to Lee papers.
