Adam Zyglis Wins 2025 Sygma Delta Chi Award for Editorial Cartooning

The Society of Professional Journalists announced the Sigma Delta Chi Awards for work done in 2025 Thursday night July 9, 2026.
For Editorial Cartooning the award was given to Adam Zyglis of The Buffalo News.
Judges said: “These are challenging days for editorial cartoonists, it’s easy to get so angry the results are hot instead of illuminating. Zyglis keeps a sense of humor and irony without resorting to cheap shots and that makes him special right now.”
In a related field Deborah Jian Lee Won the award for Illustration with “A Prospect Heights Ghost Story” from Economic Hardship Reporting Project and Hyperallergic.
Judges said: ” A strong and relatable story made exponentially more powerful by the intimate pen illustrations.”
