Shrub Graphic Medicine Series Coming to Hoopla, Comics Plus

Brigid Alverson over at School Library Journal is reporting that the first issue of Shrub, a graphic medicine series, will be made available via Hoopla and Comics Plus. The middle grade story is written by Shane Portman, drawn by Andy Alves, colored by Sophia Du and Celia Fitzgerald, and letterer by Oceano Ransford.

There is a Kickstarter campaign being launched by Fanbase Press to fund the print run. The campaign for the fundraiser describes the series as:

Shrub is an 8-issue, middle grade Graphic Medicine series that explores the various ways that we allow grief to take root, inspired by Emmy Award-nominated writer Shane Portman’s experience with the loss of his father.
