Tis the season

Red and Rover was followed by Rip Haywire Saturday on the GoComics “My Stuff” feed and Saturday saw a bit of serendipity.

Yesterday it seemed strange to me that there weren’t smiles ending the Rex Morgan, M.D. strip, after all Summer and Augie were patching up differences and spreading good news. At least today there was a brief flash of smiles from the two lovers.

Well, Jim Keefe at Sally Forth isn’t the only cartoonist that can use references for his strip. Thomas Yeates includes a fine reproduction of the original Basilica of St. Stephen in today’s Prince Valiant.

The Quiz

Big Nate‘s drop panel prompts me to question how many know the who the credited cartoonists for SuperCaptainCoolMan are referencing.

Only two strips mentioning Pearl Harbor today that I noticed. Barney and Clyde were all in on the date. Gasoline Alley had a small reference to the day of infamy, but it was the first Panel that got my attention.
