In observation of the 150th anniversary of Edgar Rice Burroughs‘ birth (September 1, 1875) The Daily Cartoonist herewith presents the artists of the Sunday newspaper comics adapting and inspired by ERB.

In 2021 Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc began a new series of ERB Sunday formatted web comic strips.

  1. My sister gave me Hogarth’s Dynamic Figure Drawing when I started art school. Though my style was more Krazy Kat then Tarzan, I absorbed the lessons in that book and it actually helped me when I started Life Drawing class.

  2. I think it’s supposed to be “1875” in the first sentence.

    1. Y’know, I double checked all the dates in the body of the post – but not in the lede.
