NCS at C2E2 on 4/26-28/2024

The National Cartoonists Society will have a booth at the Chicago Comic & Enterrtainment Expo on April 26 – 28. If you are in Chicago this weekend visit NCS member cartoonists at Booth 848.

Several members of the NCS will be tabling over the weekend, including: Brian Gordon, George Gant, Harold Bucholz, Dee Fish, Johnny Sampson, Matthew Hansel, Tim Jones, Jim McGreal, Bob East, Richard Pietrzyk, and our very own president, Karen Evans!

NCS member Tim Jones will be at our booth at C2E2! Tim is the creator, artist and writer of the widely popular, self-syndicated comic strip; “SOUR GRAPES” about “Aesop”, a miserable-flying dog, living in a strange, problematic and troubled world along with his odd family and pet cloud, ‘Ominous’. www.sourgrapescomic.com

NCS member Jim MCGreal will be at our booth at C2E2! Jim has been an NCS member since 2009. His cartooning career began assisting Dale Messick on the “Brenda Starr” comic strip. Since then, he’s created comic books, strips and illustrations. His latest project is Rock, a webcomic that combines a traditional comic strip and animation.

Richard Laurent is an editorial cartoonist/illustrator who has worked for the Sun-Times editorial opinion page, illustrated for numerous national and trade magazines, and is currently an instructor at Columbia College-Chicago. His book, “Laughing Matters-The Political Cartoons of Richard Laurent,” is currently available on Amazon and Itasca Books.

NCS member George Gant will be at our booth at C2E2! George is a Ringo-Nominated and Glyph Comics Award-Winning cartoonist and the creator of the comic strip Beware of Toddler. He is also the current artist of the Beano comic strip Angel Face Investigates.

NCS member Dee Fish will be at our booth at C2E2! Dee is the writer and artist of the semi-autobiographical webcomic, “Finding Dee”. It’s a slice-of-life strip about the ins-and-outs of COMING out as transgender in your 40s while trying to make it in comics. She’s also the creator of the comic strip “Dandy & Company” and has worked as an inker and guest artist on the syndicated comic strip. “Dick Tracy”.

NCS member Johnny Sampson will be at our booth at C2E2! Johnny is a “Silver Reuben” award winning cartoonist based in Glen Ellyn, IL. He became the writer and artist of the MAD Fold-In after Al Jaffee’s retirement in 2020. On top of various freelance illustration projects, he also teaches comics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and proudly serves as both the Chicago Chapter Chair and National Representative of the National Cartoonists Society.
