New Bill Watterson Book – Fall ’23

News is breaking of a new book by Bill Watterson and John Kascht scheduled for release on October 10, 2023.

From Bill Watterson, bestselling creator of the beloved comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, and John Kascht, one of America’s most renowned caricaturists, comes a mysterious and beautifully illustrated fable about what lies beyond human understanding.

What little that is known comes from the Simon & Schuster notification:

For the book’s illustrations, Watterson and caricaturist John Kascht worked together for several years in unusually close collaboration. Both artists abandoned their past ways of working, inventing images together that neither could anticipate—a mysterious process in its own right.

  • Publisher: Andrews McMeel Publishing (October 10, 2023)
  • Length: 72 pages
  • ISBN13: 9781524884949

The book doesn’t yet appear on the Andrews McMeel site, although the Amazon and Barnes & Noble solicitations, linked at the above Simon & Schuster page, have previews.

  1. John and Bill met while working on the Art of Richard Thompson book. So another good thing came out of those sessions.

  2. Wow! This is amazing, didn’t think he would ever publish anything after Calvin and Hobbes. I’ll be very interested to read it.
