Comic Strip of the Day

CSotD: You’re never lonely … enough

Dog eat doug

Dog Eat Doug is a strip about a young lab and a human baby. That might seem like a limiting premise but, in fact, it's very open ended, because Sophie and Doug occasionally have extended imaginary adventures, and sometimes they simply behave like a young pup and a baby.

Having shared a home with young pups and babies, occasionally at the same time, I really like the strips that give me that shudder of recognition, like this one: I can remember when breaks had to be postponed until either naptime or a moment when you felt that they were engaged and would, for at least three minutes, stay out of trouble and, at the same time, leave you alone. A rare and fleeting combination.

And I remember the realization that, no, I hadn't actually heard the latch click when I closed the door, which left it vulnerable to pushing noses and little hands. And how does this realization come to us? As demonstrated here.

The silhouette panel absolutely makes this strip. Would not be funny without it.
