Pearls Before Swine, after Cathy…maybe

The Capital, Annapolis, Md is dropping Cathy and rolling the dice with Pearls Before Swine.

I know you’re probably wondering why an editor who bungled a change in the TV guide would be stupid enough to try this stunt. But this time we’re asking for reader input before making the change permanent.

The requests for “Pearls Before Swine” have been about equal to the complaints about “Cathy”; even fans tell me the latter strip’s story line has grown stale. “Pearls” strikes me as clever and funny, two critical ingredients for loyal readership. And its popularity across the country is unquestionable.

  1. there are some strips that i dont like but once i start reading a strip i will read it to the bitter end. i dont care for baby blues but i have been reading it for several years and only read four strips that were funny. cathy’s thing is been the same over the years and i have enjoyed this strip for many years , i still read peanuts and remember some strips from the time i was a kid and still laughed at it. we have to grow old but we dont have to grow up, we should keep our childhood inact and quit being so serious, life is just too short
