The Lee Newspapers Comics Page – Early Results

A month ago Lee Enterprises added 20 Creators Syndicate comic strips and panels to their newspapers. Newspapers.com has a 30 day delay for The Daily Cartoonist to check the newspapers, here are what we see.
As noted in that early news item the 20 Creators comics are Agnes (reruns), Andy Capp, Archie (reruns), B.C., Daddy’s Home, Diamond Lil (reruns), Dog Eat Doug (reruns), Dogs of C-Kennel, Flo & Friends, Free Range, Heathcliff, Herb and Jamaal, One Big Happy (reruns), Rubes (half new half reruns), Scary Gary (reruns), Speed Bump, The Barn, The Other Coast, Wizard of ID, and Zack Hill.
The newspapers have kept the 10 King Features Syndicate comics of the past two years, those being Zits (reruns), Hi & Lois, Blondie, Sally Forth, Beetle Bailey, Macanudo, Hagar the Horrible, Barney Google and Snuffy Smith, Break of Day, and The Family Circus (rerun-ish).
Those two pages were in every early October 2026 daily Lee paper we checked (we didn’t check all 70+ Lee papers). The two Andrews McMeel Syndication strips (Pickles and Breaking Cat News) which are placed on a separate third page were in most but not all of the newspapers we checked.
Waiting an extra day got us the first look at the first Lee newspapers’ Sunday comics pages (Oct. 4, 2026) after the switch which remained with the King Features’ lineup – but let’s remember that Sundays are not always updated at the same time as the dailies. (Has Lee remained with King up to this month?)
Those Sunday King pages run all the daily comics plus Between Friends, Dennis the Menace, Mutts, Six Chix, Beware of Toddler, Carpe Diem, and Never Been Deader.
We did find one paper (The Wisconsin State Journal) that ran the four King pages AND four Creators pages! The sSunday lineup is the same Creators features as the daily lineup.
It has to be noted that these are taken from e-editions and so there is no guarantee that the print editions are exactly the same as we see above.
