Matt Golding Takes 2026 Kennedy Award for Outstanding Cartoon

The Kennedy Award, “the most prestigious event in Australian journalism,” honors excellence in journalism (not to be confused with the Washington, D.C. based Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards).
Friday evening The Kennedy Award for Outstanding Cartoon went to Matt Golding for his “Playing Trump.”
Golding’s win was one of five that Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) journalists received (or here):
Cartoonist Matt Golding picked up the Outstanding Cartoon award for “Playing Trump”, which depicted Russian President Vladimir Putin passing the dice to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the pair play a board game called “Trump” with North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Golding was joined by Megan Herbert and Cathy Wilcox in being named finalists earlier this month.
