John Freeman, creator of the British comic focused news site downthetubes, has launched a GoFundMe to raise funds to cover his rising hosting fees.
As regular readers know, downthetubes is a comic site primarily promoting British comics, run by me, former Marvel UK and Titan editor John Freeman, my work complemented by contributions from a fantastic team of volunteers. It’s been running since 1998, and has a little bit of income from ads and affiliates, and we have a dedicated, loyal and appreciated audience. But what I don’t have is the capacity to cope well with a large bill, especially when it’s a hosting bill of just over £2100, up from £1500 two years ago, whenI firstrana GoFundMecrowdfunder, up from £620 two years earlier.
If you can spare the cash, DownTheTubes is a worthy publication to donate to.
