Jack Ohman Receives His Herblock Prize Award

The Herblock Prize Event Ceremony was held earlier tonight. This year’s recipient, Jack Ohman (San Francisco Chronicle) was on hand to receive the prize. Mike Rhode has a brief post with photos over on Comics DC blog.
Mike reports that Matt Wuerker, Steve Artley, Kevin Kallaugher, Joel Pett, Nik Kowsar, Caroline Belefski, among others were present.

Finalists for this year’s prize is: Pedro Molina.
The Herb Block Foundation, created from assets after the death of famed Washington Post editorial cartoonist “Herblock”, has a mission to “combating all forms of discrimination and prejudice and improving the conditions of the poor and underprivileged through the creation or support of charitable and educational programs with the same goals.” The prize is to honor excellence in editorial cartooning.
