The 53rd Annie Awards were presented Saturday evening February 21, 2026.
As Mercedes Milligan at Animation Magazine says KPop Demon Hunters was the big winner.
This year’s runaway winner was the Netflix/Sony Pictures Animation megahit KPop Demon Hunters, which won all 10 categories it was nominated for — shutting out its top competition Elio (Disney-Pixar), which was nominated in nine of those races and one additional category.
If you had young ones around anytime late last year that was the show on your TV over and over and over again. So no surprise it took the honors it was nominated for: Best Feature, Best FX-Feature, Best Character Animation-Feature, Best Character Design-Feature, Best Direction-Feature, Best Music-Feature (the kiddies would sing along with every song), Best Production Design-Feature, Best Voice Acting-Feature, Best Writing-Feature, and Best Editorial-Feature.
