Steve Sack Is So %$@#! Angry

As we noted earlier, former Minneapolis Star-Tribune editorial cartoonist Steve Sack has returned to the drawing table after his officially retirement four years ago. We had a chance to catch up with Steve about his motivations and how long we can expect new Sack cartoons.

Back in October Steve had created a Substack account to post older cartoons that were still relevant and also to share some of the “wacky art projects” he was working on. He describes some of those things as experiments with oil painting, comic strips, seed art, paper-mâché, whirligigs, and 3D modeling.

But when Department of Homeland Security’s ICE and CBP agents began their violent campaign in Minnesota he felt “moved and angry.” Or as he bluntly says, “I got so fucking angry.” On January 22, Steve started posting new cartoons critical of ICE presence in his home state.

Although DHS has announced it is pulling ICE agents out of Minneapolis, Steve is going to continue posting new cartoons. His latest cartoons deal with the Epstein Files. “I just love to draw. Birds gotta fly, fish gotta swim, cartoonists gotta doodle and shoot their mouth off.”

Best to place to catch his latest work is on his Substack.
