Guillaume Bouzard wins Prix Charlie Schlingo
Skip to commentsAt the close of this year’s Le Grand Off, the festival awarded the Prix Charlie Schlingo to French cartoonist Guillaume Bouzard for his album Les Vacances chez Pépé-Mémé. The album is described as a short, gag-driven comic about childhood holidays with grandparents, rendered in Guillaume’s trademark crude, elastic offbeat drawing style.
The other prize of the night: The “Couilles au cul” (“balls up your ass” or “balls of steel”) went to a collection of artists whose work was featured in “100 dessins pour Gaza” (“100 drawings for Gaza”). Notable cartoonists in the collection include: Altan, Angel Boligán, Patrick Chappatte, Emil Ferris, Philippe Geluck, Ben Jennings, Marilena Nardi, Mohammad Sabaaneh, Joe Sacco, Art Spiegelman, Ann Telnaes, Willem, and Wozniak.
