Comic Strip of the Day

CSotD: The Last Word on the N-word

Tom

I was going to let this topic go, but Ruben Bolling's take is simply too compellingly funny. Use of the original art was completely brilliant, and the study questions at the end could only be more hilarious if they were as pointless and tone-deaf as the study questions at the end of most student literature.

And I say that as a person who regularly writes study questions for student reading.

Tom the Dancing Bug is consistently above the norm, but this is even above the norm for his own work. (Don't forget that you can click on the comic to get a larger version. It's particularly worth doing today.)

  1. The hilarity level of the entire piece is off the charts — but the frame that tickled both Diane and me the most was the life preservers and helmets one.
As a bonus, this strip prints out perfectly on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet, and it’s going up in my office on Tuesday. It would be Monday, but I’m one of those slacker gummint employees who get this coming Monday off.

  2. Thank you for featuring that one–I don’t read Tom the Dancing Bug regularly, so I would have missed it. OTOH, had I missed it, I wouldn’t have laughed so hard that I started coughing up bits of lung. One of life’s many trade-offs.
