Comic Strip of the Day

CSotD: The Divine Miss O

Cds

Shortly before beginning this project, I asked a comics exec what the copyright issues might be, though I assumed it was fair use. He replied that, while it was technically a gray area, it would not be the kind of thing anyone was likely to really get upset over.

Well, if I used Richard Thompson's "Cul de Sac" as often as it gave me the best laugh of the day, it wouldn't be gray at all — I'd just be republishing the strip on a regular basis. Richard, along with Stephen Pastis (Pearls Before Swine) and Dan Piraro (Bizarro), is up for the Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year award from the National Cartoonists Society, so I'm obviously not the only one who feels that way. (See sidebar for Cul de Sac collections.)

  1. Love Cul De Sac. The best I’ve experienced in a long time.
