Comic Strip of the Day

CSotD: The View From Behind The Clipboard

Cleats

Bill Hinds, creator of "Cleats," also has a long-running feature, "Buzz Beamer," in SI For Kids and is half of the team that produces "Tank McNamara." Cleats is my favorite of the three because I spent enough time coaching youth soccer, and being a sports parent in general, that there are few of his characters here that fail to strike a familiar chord. And poor Bailey, who is being raised to be absolutely terrified of everything, is certainly a kid I had on several of my teams, though none of the parents were ever frank enough to express their own fear in terms of the cost of health coverage as in this week's arc.

There is a collection of Cleats strips; see sidebar. And don't be surprised if  Cleats turns up in the Sunday classics at some point. Hinds is a dad and it shows.
