CSotD: Comic PANEL of the Day.com

There is a small kerfuffle going on in the comics world because Wiley Miller's Non Sequitur is up for a National Cartoonists Society Award for "Best Comic Strip," and some people think it should only be eligible for "Best Panel."
Actually, it's sometimes a panel and sometimes a strip, and Wiley entered some panels in the panel division and some strips in the strips division and thank god he didn't earn a nomination in both or we'd really have some knotted knickers to deal with.
Wiley moved from California to Maine a couple of years ago, and, about that time, began to mix comic strips into the feature more often, starring a girl named Danae whom I would describe as Eloise if Eloise had been created by Charles Addams. But he still does panels regularly, as he did today.
Given that Non Sequitur has already won NCS awards in both the panel and strip categories, I'm having a little trouble grasping the controversy. Anyway, whateverthehell it is, it's pretty good at being that.
