This Between Friends story arc began with Susan's husband figuring out how much money they could save if she gave up buying expensive coffee. She has managed to cadge one off Maeve, but she is still looking for a more long-term solution. One of the more endearing things about this strip is watching, over the course of a week, how the characters' sympathy for each other dwindles … almost like real life, eh?
